This course is an integrated learning approach that provides learners with a strong foundation in evidence-based, outcome-driven leadership practices. Participants will feel confident and  empowered to hit the ground running when they step into their new leadership role. After completing the requirements of this innovative learning process, they will be well prepared to take on new tasks  on their path to greater success.

This six-module course presents learners with the knowledge to identify qualities that contribute to successful leadership practices and strategies. This in-person course includes classroom sessions,  E-Learning activities in Moodle, self-assessments, and interactive practice exercises to develop and strengthen competencies. These components are designed to enhance the organizational climate in the Child Welfare environment.

There are six, full-day sessions over the next 6 months:

  • Module 1: Laying the Foundation: Child Welfare & The Supervisor’s New Mindset
  • Module 2: Building the Foundation: Effective Leadership Styles & Ethical Responsibilities
  • Module 3: Shaping the Foundation: Know Yourself & Know Your Staff
  • Module 4: Stabilizing the Foundation: Organizational Culture and Climate
  • Module 5: Sustaining the Foundation: Accountability, Productivity, and Improving Practice
  • Module 6: Strengthening the Foundation: Employee Development & Retention
