Alternative Care Policies and Forms

This course provide a general overview of forms used by Direct Services Providers providing supervision and support to children and youth placed in Special Care Settings for the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services.  Participate will receive a brief description of each for include the purpose of the form and details regarding information needed to complete the form.  This course is recommended for all Direct Service Providers, Direct Service Provider employees, and caregivers that enter into an agreement with DCFS to provide services in Special Care Settings/Alternative Care placements.

Alternative Care-Learners Courses

The Alternative Care-Learners Course is broken into 5 separate trainings that must be completed individually to receive credit for the entire course. You will receive a certificate of completion for each training. The 5 Trainings are:

A Journey Home: Session 5 - PS

“Trust-based Parenting” explores the 3 principles of TBRI®: Connecting, Empowering and Correcting. Strategies used from each of the principles will help caregivers build trusting relationships that help children and youth feel value, cared for, safe and connected.  The principles also prepare caregivers to provide an environment that also meets the physical needs of children and youth needed to support healthy body and brain development.
