This training is intended to increase the awareness, knowledge and skills of foster parents along with help with DCFS staff, so they may effectively and competently care for LGBTQ+ youth in their families. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ+) youth and families live in all regions and in every parish of the state yet are often invisible to communities and institutions, including the child welfare system.
